This MidCentury Modern home was designed by noted local architect Henry Hester. It is filled with sunshine and surrounds a large central patio the middle of the home. Constructed for easy living, it boasts many original architectural elements: an open floor plan, exposed post and beam ceilings, floor to ceiling windows. It will comfortably accommodate families on holiday, visiting grandparents, or business travelers.

One of our favorite features of the house is the abundance of windows and French doors which provide natural light and fresh air. The living room, dining area and kitchen are all open; plus, they connect to the large patio area at the center of the home through multiple sets of glass doors. We consider the patio an outside living room where you can comfortably relax in the sun, enjoy your morning coffee, and have a glass of wine while watching the stars at night. The large patio has plenty of seating and warm heaters for cool evenings. In addition to the central patio, the house also has fenced-in back yard, great for grown-ups to relax and for kids to play a game of kickball or catch.

The galley kitchen is fully-equipped to meet culinary wants, and a gas grill sits on the patio right outside. You have your choice of eating areas from the spacious dining table which can seat ten, to the long wood patio table or small café-type table with umbrella. The living room is comfortably furnished and holds a large library available for your enjoyment. The master bedroom has a king size bed, plus en suite master bathroom. There is also a separate private living space adjacent to the master bedroom with couch, flat screen television and sliding glass door that opens up to the central patio. Each of the other 4 bedrooms offers a queen-sized bed and large closet space. If extra sleeping arrangements are needed an air mattress with linens and pillows can be delivered to the house upon request.

The house is situated minutes from the 5 and 52 freeways giving easy access to all southern California attractions – Sea World, The Zoo, LegoLand, Birch Aquarium, Balboa Park, Disneyland and Knott’s Berry Farm. The lively downtown area of La Jolla Village in just minutes away and has an endless choice of coffee houses, major restaurants, boutique stores, art galleries and more. The neighborhood is quiet – except for the birdlife – and is located a short walk from Muirlands Middle School, The Cogan Family Swimming Pool plus walking and bike trails, tennis courts and children’s playground.
