This is an excellent home, the master suite and the roof top deck definitely earn the description, 'Designer Birdrock Retreat'. The rest of the house is also of a very high standard, nice bathrooms, kitchen and outdoor space with BBQ. Be aware that the large screen home theater is actually in one of the bedrooms but there are other flat screen TV's. Lives up to its description: Designer Tranquillity There was a Starbucks within walking distance for morning coffee and a beach within a short drive. We liked Birdrock because it is less hectic than La Jolla itself. We just booked again for this summer, only wish we could stay for longer than a week.

Tranquil Stay at Tranquility. My family and I were in La Jolla for a funeral, but our stay was made very comfortable by the beauty of the home, the setting, and the poeple at SoCalVacation Rentals. I will look them up again some time.

What a lovely home you hav! We all had a wonderful time; the mornings being especially nice with coffee and breakfast on the third floor over-looking the gorgeous ocean view. It was wonderful spending our Thanksgiving holiday in your beautiful home. We had everything we needed for our "feast". Thank you for all the extras to make our meal complete! We felt so much at home. Your house and views are spectacular! We hope to come again when we visit our family in San Diego.

Our stay at Tranquility exceed our already high expectations! The property itself is sublimely decorated and situated in a wonderfully beautiful, friendly, and safe family neighbourhood, and it felt like a home away from home. We were there with our three year-old son, my parents from Canada, and an aunt and uncle from Wales. Our son was warmly welcomed by the neighbourhood children and we have all agreed that we plan to return to Tranquility and La Jolla again next year (and the year after, and the year after!). The only thing that wasn't up to the high standard of everything else on the propery was the telephone: it is a very old portable and only manages to hold a charge for about five or ten minutes. We only had one working cell phone, so the phone was necessary. It is a minor point, but worth upgrading so that the entire property will be pitch perfect! Thank you for the great location. being by the beach and close to main roads was definitley a great convenience. Also having a kitchen with all the utilities was a definite ++ since we needed to cook a lot for our 3 year old. We will be recommending this place to our friends and family. REALLY appreciated how clean the place is kept!

This was one of the most relaxing getaway's that we've experienced. The unit was perfect from design, convenience, and location. I can not express enough positives about the property and the entire rental process. I will highly recommend this site to my friends. We eagerly await our return to PB.

This was our second year staying at this property and this time we brought my in laws and siblings. The location is great and the property was very clean and neat and had all the comforts of home. I super nice feature is that the bikes, boogie boards, beach chairs and beach towels are all included and in good condition. We had fun just hanging out at the property or taking the short 1 min walk to the beach and hanging out there. We were able to walk or bike to many different and delicious restaurants. We will be back!

The place is perfectly located next to the beach and all the night life in Pacific Beach, would definitely come back. All the things you need for a beach stay are included ie, cooler, beach cruisers, and some boogie boards. Amazing Labor Day weekend plus parking is not an issue with the garage spot included.

Great Location. Easy walk to the beach. Very comfortable home with plenty of room for family of 5. Lots of space to unwind, good beach toys, great neighborhood and easy walk to La Jolla Shores. This home was actually a "replacement" for our 1st which did not meet our requirements and Southern California Vacation Rentals moved us to this home which worked out really well.

nice, calm and relaxing We stayed with our family in the lovely shores beach haven on May 2010. We Loved the place - very serene and well-maintained. The very first evening we arrived we wanted to cook something special for dinned, and the only thing missing was big pot. We called Megan and she delivered brand new set of pots in next 2 hours. Missy and Megan were all the time in contact, polite and very helpful with answers. I would highly recommend this property for family vacation!

The service we recieved when booking the property was excellent. We spoke with very friendly agents who answered all our questions in a professional manner. We really enjoyed the property, it had all the comforts of our home with an amazing view and location steps to the beach. The location was great, very family friendly, but we didn't go at peak season when there might be more parties and a tougher time at finding parking. I liked the location the best. I didn't like that there were no bikes to use, but with many rental places on the boardwalk, that problem was easily solved. We would love to rent this place again and look forward to planning our next vacation in San Diego.

This is the perfect weekend getaway for a couple or even a small family. Close enough to the beach that you hear the waves at night, a short walk down to the beaches for te day. Couldn't have asked for anything better! Plus the staff was great. They were very hospitable and generous with their time. They really knew how to male you feel like you were their only customer.

This bungalow is ideal for two adults traveling with two children (as we were), who want a comfortable retreat after days spent outside. The layout is excellent, making the space feel much larger than it actually is, and the white decor makes the interior feel bright despite the lack of direct sunlight. We found the house to be in near-pristine condition, clean and well maintained. The location is unbeatable. It's cleverly separated from the main house by a hedge, and very quiet (though one night we were slightly troubled by noise from a party next door). I'd recommend it highly.

We had a fantastic time and really enjoyed the property and location. Unfortunately the property went into foreclosure shortly before our stay so it will no longer be available - otherwise we would have recommended it. The foreclosure meant we had some interruption to our time with people driving by to look at the house and even knocking on the door to ask to look around with a view to buying it. However, SCVR staff were really helpful with this and put 'do not disturb' signs up and offered us some money back (unprompted) for the inconvenience. I could not fault them and would highly recommend SCVR to others.

The paintings are nice and the view is great! We loved sitting on the porch at night.

My family was in California to welcome our son/brother/boyfriend home from a year in Afghanistan. We decided to rent a house so we could all be together in a homey, more personal setting rather than a "cold" hotel room. What we found upon arrival at Via Maria was ideal!! The house was lovely and the neighborhood quiet. The beach was only a short walk from the house and believe me this out of shape 56 year old would let you know if it wasn't short. The house was exceptionally clean. Renting through Southern California Vacation Rentals was a pleasure! They were an absolute delight to work with. We requested a few extra towels and they were delivered immediately and with a smile. They were able to get us last minute tickets to Disneyland and even brought them to the house for us. The most appreciated favor was picking up and delivering a special package that had been overnighted to me. I would rent through them again without any hesitation and recommend them highly!

Greatplace and very quiet neighborhood. Very clean area, seemed quite safe and very comfortable. Big house. Lots of room.

The inside of the property was great. Clean, with all luxuries of home. The outside looks a little run down and dirty but there are many private units here too. Parking was an issue, even parking in the saved stall. The parking is very close together and at one point I had to go through the back of my jeep to get inside because the stalls are so close together. Over all though, the vacation and the house were perfect.

Perfect for our needs. We rented both the Yellow Cottage and Heritage Place to accommodate our entire family for a week's visit to San Diego. The set-up was perfect with the front door of the yellow cottage only a few steps away from the back door of Heritage House. The baby monitor allowed us to put some of the kids to bed and still hear them next door. The location of the houses was great! The house was clean and well supplied. It was great that there was a washing machine right in the house. However, there were a few mainenance issues with the house. It "rained" in the kitchen when the shower was on. Secondly, one of the shutters kind of fell apart when we opened it. We were able to fix it. Both were reported. Overall, it was a great space and we were happy with our week in the two houses.

What a fabulous place, this Yellow Cottage. So unique! We had a glorious walk with [friends] who came to visit us. Truly I’m blessed! A million thanks to Jim and Cathy who made this all possible! It’s a great La Jolla place! We’ll be back!

From the moment we walked in we felt the soothing calmness and peacefulness we were to enjoy the whole week. Not even record breaking rain and mudslides everywhere could dampen the wonderful week we have spent here at the yellow cottage. From the San Diego Zoo, SeaWorld, Legoland, extreme shopping and delicious meals from La Jolla to Mission Beach and two great days spent on the very kid friendly La Jolla Shores Beach. We were always happy to return to the soothing seclusion of the cottage. Thanks to everyone for an incredible week. We look forward to a February tradition in the making. No doubt we’ll return the warm memories of La Jolla in the bitter cold winters of Chicago. Lots of love!!!!!

I absolutely loved it here in the Yellow Cottage. It’s a beautiful cottage, and very homey! It’s different from where I live in Tucson, AZ. The beach was wonderful, and I had an awesome time, swimming in the huge waves with my best friend Katie! California is a beautiful place, and I don’t think I could ever get enough of it! I hope to come back soon!

Although the weather was truly horrible for San Diego (having previously lived there for many years, we return at least twice yearly to escape the Midwest) - it was still SOOOOO much better than the rest of the country that week! The Cottage was absolutely lovely and its accessories (beach bikes, sand toys, picnic gear) would have been totally fabulous any other week! It was a block from the beach, and walking distance to Pannikin (Best. Coffee. Ever.), Yoga and Pilates, and downtown La Jolla and the Cove. The staff was wonderful (and the Champagne and chocolates after our trip out were very tasty!) and responsive. Thanks! We hope to stay there again!

The Yellow Cottage was just what we had hoped for. Our family of 5 (with kids in jr. high, high school and college) thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this very charming house in a quiet La Jolla neighborhood. Our kids liked having bikes to ride to the beach and in to town. My husband and I enjoyed our 20 minute walks to town for coffee, shopping and visiting La Jolla Cove. The cottage was clean and had everything we needed, including beach towels. The staff was very professional and friendly and helped us get discounted tickets for Sea World and the San Diego Zoo.

The Yellow Cottage in La Jolla was the perfect location for exploring San Diego and the surrounding area. We have 3 boys and filled every day we were there with Legoland, San Diego Zoo, SeaWorld, San Diego Safari Park, the aircraft carrier and all the boat museums,etc. There is a beach 5 minutes from the cottage which is quiet and you can watch the surfers and there are more excellent beaches along the coast, including the children's beach where the seals come onshore, and the shell beach. We didn't need to travel into San Diego for great restaurants - La Jolla has it all! La Jolla is also a great stepping stone if you want to include LA in your travels, we spent a week in the Yellow Cottage and then drove up to LA for a few days. A great 'home away from home'!

The Yellow House was very cute and the living room furniture was clean and very stylish. It was very close to the beach and the wagon and bikes were great. The downside to the place was the stairs were very steep and not good for kids at all. There was a baby gate for the bottom but it was broken and would not stay up. When I called for another one it was a $25 fee to bring another one. Another downfall of the location was it was located to a busy street and there was no gate for fence off the driveway. There is a gate but you can not pull it shut. Cute house but I don't think I would stay with little kids, older would be better.

Visiting California for Christmas was a great experience and one which certainly benefited from the home comforts provided at Sand Patch One. One Week in Paradise" We had a wonderful stay at Sand Patch One in La Jolla. Just blocks from the beach, and readily accessable to San Diego's many destinations, we were able to enjoy many memorable moments during our stay. The house was clean and roomy. Having our groceries delivered prior to our arrival was an added bonus. As was the use of a jogging stroller, beach toys and other baby items for our child. We look forward to making a return visit soon.

Fabulous Beach Vacation - We'll Return Again Next Year. Lovely little neighborhood. House is just blocks from the beach. Our 2-year-old loved the amazing playground on the beach. Avenida de la Playa has some great little restaurants. Osteria Romantica has incredible Italian food. Very easy to get everywhere in San Diego. I couldn't recommend this more highly. We'll definitely be back!!

We love the Sand Patch. We have stayed at both One and Two now and they are both so cute and charming and an excellent location. When we arrived there was a bottle of champagne waiting and chocolates. The owner even stopped by with a bottle of champagne on New Year's Eve. We felt very welcomed. We absolutely love La Jolla Shores and plan on bringing our three children here for years to come. Thank you!!

The property fully met our expectations. The location to the beach and shops was perfect. As this was our first time renting via a website, we were grateful for the immediate accessibility and support of the SCVR staff. Thanks for a great vacation!

Overall this was a good place to stay for the money. It was affordable and convenient to beach and other attractions (zoo, Legoland, etc.). Some improvement, however, should be made to the property. First it needs some landscaping work. Second the king bed in master needs a king size duvet instead of a king size cover and a smaller duvet. Third the property needs a brownie pan/ 13x9 pan (people use this pan a lot on vacation). Finally, the bathroom needs rugs as do the bedrooms. It may mean minimal additional cleaning but would enhance a renters experience. I didn't bring slippers (don't normally bring them on vacation) and forever felt I was walking in sand (even though we were careful to clean up in the backyard before entering the house).

Our family stayed at all 3 houses on this historic property for my mother's birthday/family reunion. We were coming from all over the country with children of varying ages and personalities. This setting allowed us the best possible vacation. We had plenty of room to spread out, but the kitchen/living room area in the heritage house allowed us all to gather for meals comfortably accommodating a large group. We could walk to the beach easily. Some could stay up late, others nap or go to bed early, and there was room for it all. We could not have been more pleased and would happily stay there again.

Love it!! Love it!! I was immediately impressed driving into the La Jolla beach neighborhood Windansea and got excited when the house that caught my eye driving along La Jolla Blvd was where we were actually staying. It has a huge kitchen with the finest appliances, spacious (high ceiling) dining area and great room made entertaining our group of 10 great and memorable for everyone. Thanks!!!

We had a little refrigeration problem but other than that, the property was wonderful and would definitely return.

We had a wonderful stay at Kai Vista in La Jolla. The accomodation exceeded our expectations in every way. The place is very nicely decorated, and the interior and appliances were upscale. The house was very clean and nice. We had our groceries delivered prior to our arrival, and that was great. We have a 10-month old and a 6-year old, and the use of the jogging stroller, beach toys and other baby items for our children worked out nicely. We look forward to staying here again.

The Kai Vista is a lovely unit with comfortable beds, all the amenities and a perfect deck complete with great deck furniture and a view of the ocean, The staff at Southern California Vacation rentals was very helpful. Missy & Heather took great care of us and made our visit easy!

Everything about Kai Vista was perfect, it was spotlessly clean, many items appeared brand new and had everything you could possibly need - including a great selection of DVDs and even beach equipment. We're a family of 5 - 2 adults, 2 young adults and a teenager and there was plenty room for us all. The beach is less than 2 minutes walk away and, in our opinion, it was the best beach along the So Cal coast. We were visiting our son who is at UCSD so the location was perfect for driving to him each day and also to downtown San Diego. Really glad we chose this rental and only sorry that we had to leave.

Location is excellent -- walk to beach. Cottage walls are thin and sound travels easily. The house was built as an inexpensive cottage in a lovely area, so that is what you get. Good for a vacation because of the area, but priced for the area and not the house. Overall, we were satisfied.

The house is situated in a quiet neighborhood. The Wind & Sea beach is only 5 min walking but not that impressive but La Jolla shore is really close by and it's a great beach. If you want a more lively neighborhood then you should reconsider this house. The house has cute decor and everything you need is in the house. It'd be great if it can provide more soap and shampoo.

Perfect! Our stay at the Periwinkle Cottage was absolutely delightul. The location and setting were great. The Cottage was very clean and thoughtfully furnished and decorated. We had everything we needed. We would definately reccomend this to anyone and would definately stay here again. It was the perfect getaway!

Impressive Beach Treat!" I came here for a short vacay with two girlfriends and what attracted us to this property was the house having so much character! It was way more spacious than we had expected and has really nice upgraded appliances. Of course the location is prime! Close to all shops, food, beach, and fun! The staff was incredibly helpful and nice! I will definitely be back for another trip and would recommend this fully to everyone!

We rented The Corey House, Heritage Place, and the Yellow Cottage at the same time. It was amazing. It accommodated our entire wedding party so nobody stayed in a hotel. My parents in particular stayed with my brother and his wife in the Corey House. They absolutely loved it, and said that it was 10x better than staying at a hotel. They went to the grocery mart up the street and got things for breakfast and were able to use the kitchen for a homemade breakfast everyday. A semi-private beach is right down the street for a little fun in the sun. What can I say, all three places were perfect. I would absolutely recommend this accommodation to my best friend!

This was a great location in La Jolla. Great distance for walking to town and shopping, eating, going to the beach or seeing the seals at the Cove. It is on a main road but is very quiet at night and the cars aren't bothersome at all when you are in the yard on inside the house. Has all the amenities of home and is very clean. The backyard is great with lots of vegetation and a patio table where you can relax or eat outside. I would definitely stay here again when visiting San Diego.

What an amazing home and dog friendly too! We won't travel without our dog BoBo and finding a home that will allow him that is of the quality that we prefer is not easy to do. However Seaview exceeded both mine and BoBo's expectations. The home was BEAUTIFUL, clean, and included many of the high end items I have at home like the mattresses, linens, furnishings, etc. Plus it was a great house for BoBo because of the tile and wooden floors, fully enclosed yard with lots of shade AND grass, plus it was only a half-block from beach access where we took walks every morning and played in the sand. We will definitely be back. This is our new home away from home now that we have found it.

It was great to show up and have our expectations blown away by this place. It had so much character, was in the most beautiful neighborhood and overlooked the water. I would go back to this place in a heart beat.

we arrived expecting a nice spanish hasienda style home , but the house was perfect ; beautifully decorated warm and invited.. the rooms were spacious, the bathrooms were spa like.. we had a newborn with us and were able to walk a few blocks to shopping and restaurants. the beach was a stones throw away.. we loved the vacation..alice

The house was great. Everyone had a great time and thought the house was just perfect. There was a glich with the alarm system and the upstairs TV, but not a deal breaker. Everyone would like to rent the house again in the future.

We had a really really great time. This is a wonderful home. I love it!! So nice when you travel with family. We enjoyed our walks on the beach, barbequing on the patio… complete with hummingbird nest in wrought iron light. We will definitely be back and recommend this to our friends.

We stayed at the Spanish Hacienda for a week in July. We were 8 adult family members and we were delighted with the comfort and spaciousness of the home. It is beautifully decorated and the kitchen is well stocked with just about everything you need to prepare your meals if you feel like cooking. We couldn't resist dining on the lovely outdoor patio, even though there are wonderful restaurants nearby (Piatti being a favorite). You really don't need a car unless you want to see the sights in San Diego or visit wine country in Temecula. The beach is just steps away, and a grocery store, surf shops, and restaurants are all within walking distance. There are also great dining spots in the Village of La Jolla, a short drive from the Hacienda. The house was spotless and the owners gave a lot of thought to small details -- there were even little soaps and guest shampoos provided in the bathrooms. Plenty of beach towels and beach chairs were provided, and there were a couple of bicycles for use as well. When we arrived we had some minor problems with the smoke alarm batteries and outdoor heaters, but the staff got right on it that day and we settled in nicely. They were never able to fix a nonworking TV in the master bedroom, but they tried three times, so we appreciated their effort. If you select this property you won't be disappointed. All of us look forward to staying there again.

We were a three generation family group visiting from Arizona and the East Coast, five adults, three under eight children and an infant. This property was perfect for adults and children to spread out but also maintain some distance and privacy. It just worked great for all of us! Everything in the home was in working order and it was very clean. SCVR was professional, easy to deal with and very responsive. They worked with us to meet a few special needs and followed up to make sure all was well and we were satisfied, which we certainly were. While our weather turned out of be "iffy" on s few days, our vacation home exceeded the expectations of all. Thanks SCVR, we'll be back.

Spanish Hacienda was amazing. We stayed there with 2 other families. It is perfect for adults and kids. The kids room was nice, quiet and away from the main area so the adults could relax and have fun in the evenings. We were pleasantly surprised by the ocean views. The living area was large enough to accommodate everyone at once and was still very comfortable. The kitchen was updated and had everything we needed. The place was very clean, walking distance to the beach and a 2 minute drive to shopping and restaurants. The SCVR staff was very helpful. They set up Zoo and Sea World Trips for us, made dinner reservations and even scheduled a sitter so the adults could enjoy a nice dinner out. The sitter was friendly and we all felt very secure leaving our children in her care. We would love to stay in Spanish Hacienda again!

Overall, we had a great stay. There were a couple of minor issues and SoCal's staff were incredibly quick to address. A few quick suggestions for anyone staying there: 1. The stereo is old school boombox style. There isn't anything to dock your IPod to. Plan accordingly. 2. Consider bringing a pillow from home. No issues in terms of cleanliness, but they were pretty soft. 3. Consider RedBox DVD rentals if you are thinking about renting a movie. They are all over the place, cost something like $1 per night. Put 00000 as your zip code if you aren't from the USA. 4. The burgers over at Bare Back grill were really good. 5. The atmosphere over at Miller's Field Bar was a lot of fun, especially during a Texas Longhorns game. 6. Appliances, pots/ pans, etc. were all good if you intend on cooking at home.

We had a great vacation in San Diego! We were really impressed by the house and we had a very pleasant stay here. Everything was clean and in the house so we had all the comfort we wish, also for our baby! We'll miss this place absolutely. Missy and Heather thank you for your hospitality!

My recommendation is to remember to codes for the gates, house, bike, etc. We went to the Padres game, malls and restaurants. However, the most fun was just relaxing out in the beach and drinking coffee in the morning at the park. Hope other visitors have fun + God bless!

This is a great spot! The only change would make is softer beds! A queen size bed from Costco would make this place a 5 star! Besides that we had a great time!

The property came as advertised, with no bad surprises! It was clean upon arrival, the location is fabulous and the staff very helpful when called upon. The only minor item we had was that the bed boxspring was rather noisy, not a huge deal normally, but can pose an issue if you're sleeping in the same room as a toddler. This did not make the vacation any less enjoyable though! Would DEFINITELY return to this property, and would refer others to it as well.

We had a wonderful time. The view from the deck was spectacular. We loved how quite the neighbors were. What we found in the Birdrock home was "exactly" what we were looking for. My family would definitely stay there again.

We had a good experience here. The rooftop view and master suite are the best things about it. It's just a very short walk to the beach, a very short drive to great shopping and my son rode his bike around the neighborhood in the evenings. The high end appliances were difficult to use and and the very steep stairwell and balconies are dangerous for young children, so bring a gate if you have rug rats.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay - Ocean Breeze is a 4 bedroom, spacious home with a backyard. It was clean, in good repair, well furnished, across the street from the ocean where our son-in-law surfed and we watched the sunset, and walking distance to restaurants. The rental agency was helpful.

Staff was fantastic. They delivered wine glasses, place mats, platters - everything that was missing from the house. It was very helpful.

The property was very roomy for the 6 adults and 2 children plus infant that stayed here. We found nearly everything we needed for a great 4 day stay! The view was nice from the living room. The only thing we missed was a larger prep space in the kitchen. We never ran out of hot water even with all those morning showers! Great home, thank you. We would not hesitate staying here again.

My only "constructive criticism" would be to store the bikes and charis in the garage overhead on some sort of rack. There is BARELY enough room in that garage for all that stuff and a car. I damaged my bumper trying to park in there. Parking wasn't really necessary for the winter, but in the summer I am sure it is.

We were travelling with four families and quite a few small children. This 4-unit rental was perfect! Close to the beach, well-stocked from the kitchen to the garage and close to lots of good SD fun. I would highly recommend this plce!

The SCVR staff were very helpful, friendly and responsive. I felt very safe in the Marlin and the surrounding location. The cottage was very clean. I might suggests a little more spot cleaning on the carpet in the living room area. The keyless entries were easy to use. I appreciated having an enclosed garage. It took some skill to maneuver the car as I enterred and departed. It is important to assure that the dividing wire between garages is secured properly in order to avoid any snags. All in all the location, facility, etc. were very accommodating.

Salt Water provided a perfect place for our mini family reunion. The weather wasn't perfect but the house was! It's a great place for children with a secure yard and wonderful patio area. We loved the colorful decor and everything was child friendly. The location, being able to walk to the beach, park, shops and restaurant, made it so convenient. We'd certainly rent Salt Water again!

Nice, clean place. Very convienent location to beach, groceries, and just a few minutes from downtown LaJolla. Door locks and the exterior lighting if you arrive at night can be challenging.

We had a great time in this cozy cottage! Everything was in perfect shape when we arrived! The beds were very comfortable, big bathrooms and a spacious kitchen with all cooking utensils you would need!The outdoor area is great to sit and relax and we rode the bikes which were a great amenity! We did have a little problem with the heat, but SCVR came to fix it very quickly, a very nice handy man took care of it with a smile on his face! I was impressed with the service of your company, the follow up phone calls and the politeness of everyone I spoke too!

Nice house, very clean and well kept. The location was great for us - we had 3 teens with us and we had no problem letting them get on the bikes and go wherever they wanted; and they had a great time, especially building a fire on the beach at night. The beach is a short walk and an even shorter bike ride. It was also great to have beach towels, chairs, etc. Only suggestions would be to leave light for guests arriving at night, replace the front door lock (had a hard time with it), and keep things like sugar, coffee, olive oil, etc. better stocked. Overall a nice place to stay - helped make our vacation great! We felt at home and even got to hand out Halloween candy.

The view from the unit is unmatched -- and the outdoor spaces were wonderful. Amenities included (bikes especially) were very appreciated. We did have a bit of trouble with the grill - both lighting it and with the grates. As we cooked several meals in, we could have used a few more pots and pans. We were fully prepared to clean the unit, and would have done so more fully if there were cleaning supplies (especially for the bathroom). Overall, the rental was all we hoped for though, and we thank you. Next year, could you just make it WARM!!!??? For two years in a row when we have visited, we froze! Guess we Coloradans are just wimps when it comes to Cali weather!!

My family and I (3 adults, 2 kids),came from Bogota, Colombia for have a great vacations and sure we did it!!.. Our time there was wonderful!. The house is really comfortable and cute!. We love the amenities,the cleanliness, and off course the location. You can walk pretty easily to the bay (couple of houses away), the beach, restaurants, small stores and even a big park. We'll definitely be back, and we recommend this place to friends and family.

Some of the best fish tacos are right up the street on the way to the beach. We spent the weekend there with some friends - both cars fit inside the garage and the fold out beds were really comfortable. We are already recommending this beach house to our friends in Park City and can't wait to come back.

The house was great and staff very helpful in planning our stay. The only downside was a little difficulty finding the house and, although a 2 car garage was advertised, we found it impossible to fit 2 cars in the garage so we needed to find street parking. It wasn't until the 3rd night that we realized there was paid overnight parking area right off the alley. That information would have been helpful.

First, I would like to start by letting every parent out there know that this is a great place to stay if you have children! My wife Jessie and I stayed here with our son (2 years old) and we could not be more happy with our experience. I cannot overstate how nice it is to be within 2 miles of Sea World. SoCalVac rentals arranged a full week pass to Sea World for us and we were able to head over to Sea World in the morning and come back in the afternoon so he could take a nap. We felt no rush to see all the attractions as we could simply return to Sea World anytime we felt like it. It was wonderful for us. Next, the location is great! There were many, many restaurants near the property and we felt right at home from the start. The property is also located very close to downtown San Diego so we felt that none of the attractions in San Diego were our of our reach. During our stay we also visited the San Diego Zoo and LegoLand. If you have young children I highly recommend both of these attractions as well. I really can't stress how relaxing it was to stay at the Island Paradise. The staff was awesome and they went out of there way to see that we had a nice/memorable vacation. I would not hesitate to go back again next year. As for the property itself, it is very nice. It has an awesome "beach house" feel to it that we really enjoyed. Everything was very clean and we have no complaints. If you are planning a vacation to San Diego and you are considering staying at a hotel over this property I think you would be making a big mistake. You will be giving up that "local" type feel that you just can't replicate in a hotel. Thanks again to SoCalVacation rentals and everyone involved with making our stay so memorable. I like the fact that there was a garage to park in. The house is well kept and is the best amongst neighboring properties. Walking distance to the beach is another plus. The free wi-fi was a nice amenity. Enjoyed the bikes, boogie boards, etc.

What a wonderful time we had in San Diego staying at Island Paradise! This is one of the best trips we have ever taken and a juge part is having a home away from home! I would recommend SoCal Vacations Rentals to anyone! We will be using them again when we go back! Thanks for a memorable vacation!

Everything was as it should be when renting a place to spend a vacation with friends or family. Check in was simple and easy, the house was immaculate and true to the photos in the advert. We have 2 yr old twins and I am extremely fussy about where we stay; if we were going to go back to this area we would stay here, no question. The location is great for walks to downtown la jolla shores where there are some quaint little shops and restaurants. A very short drive to La Jolla and all the attractions the area has to offer are very close. We had a small issue with the heating cutting out but not only did the owners and Southern Californian Rentals respond immediately they went out or their way and insisted on paying for some take out food for us. Altogether a very pleasant trip. Kitchen was well stocked and amenities were great.

Sand Patch is a great little place and convenient to the beach. An easy 2-block walk with an 18 month old and 3 other children in tow. The beach is beautiful and the park was a great transition when trying to get the kids to leave the beach. If you have young children the gate around the property is secure so little ones can't get out. We had everything we needed and used everything, including the sand toys, wet suit and boogie boards. We did have to rearrange a few drawers for safety issues with the little guy as there are no safety locks on them.... Overall it was a fantastic stay and I'm already planning my next trip.

We really enjoyed how close the house was to the beach. The street is a little noisy during the peak season. And the 3rd bedroom is a converted garage. We ended up not using that room for our toddler and instead opted for the pack n play option in our room. However, the 2nd bedroom with twin beds worked out perfectly for our 2 boys. This is the perfect house for a family of 4. We would love to come back, but might out grow the house before our next return. Also, we loved the very private yard and how secure we felt with the kids playing in the yard.

We are originally from San Diego, living now in D.C. Sand Patch II was awesome! We have two young children, had a couple of get togethers with other young families (and lots of kids) which worked out just fine. Plenty of room. Fended in yard was perfet. and you can walk to one of the most popular beaches on the west coast in less than 10 minutes. all in all, our experience at Sand Patch II was fabulous. I would highlight, some of the pictures on the website are for Sand Patch I (there are no french doors in the master bedroon in Sand Patch II.) but the property is still amazing.

The house was great, big, lots of room and beautiful backyard and pool. The location was unbelieveaable being one block from La Jolla Village (a lttle quaint community with restaurants and surf shops) and a few blocks to the beach. Everything was within walking distance or even better by the bikes supplied by Lee the property owner. It was also easy to get on and off the freeway from there to get anywhere around the area you needed to go. The kids loved the zip line in th back yard and spen hours in the pool. Lee, the owner of the property was great and made sure we were all very comfortable in the house. The house was well stocked with kitchen utensils, beach supplies and electronics for entertainment. We felt the kitchen and garage could be a little cleaner and there could have been a better supply of hand and body soap. Otherwise it was fabulous.

This is a lovely house in a prime location. We sat on the porch overlooking the ocean (literally on the ocean) and watched the sunset, the surfers, the boats. It was amazing. The sounds at night were so cool. And we could hop on bikes and bike 10 mins to La Jolla. It was a great trip! I can't wait to go back!

We had 3 generations of our family on our vacation, and this was a great house to enjoy our time tegether.

This was an amazing house! Beautiful ocean views! It had everything we needed and has been lovingly maintained. The people at SoCal Vacations couldn't have been more accomodating. Our daughter and only child was married that week and this was the perfect retreat from all the wedding craziness. It was also a great place for our bride and her bridesmaids to get ready and have photos taken. This home is a family vacation home and I can see why the family enjoys it and wants to share it. The house we rented for Thanksgiving week was perfect. We had the best of what California is all about. Waking up with the waves crashing and watching the sunsets on the deck.I would highly recommend this property and look forward to staying there again.
