The San Diego Zoo

2920 Zoo Drive • San Diego • (619) 231-1515

The World Famous San Diego Zoo is one of the largest and most progressive zoos in the world. Located on 107 Acers in beautiful Balboa Park, the zoo is home to over 4,000 animals of more than 800 species. The San Diego Zoo has always been focused on conservation and species-preservation efforts, counting itself as one of the few zoos in the world that houses the Giant Panda.

The San Diego Zoo was founded in 1915 as part of the Panama-California Exposition, and has been inspiring guests with its lush green trails and historical architecture. The San Diego Zoo also has been a pioneer in building “cageless” exhibits, giving guests the illusion that they are viewing animals in their natural habitat.

The Zoo offers a guided tour bus that traverses 75% of the park, as well as an overhead gondola lift called the Skyfari, providing an aerial view of the Zoo.
